Kendall Jenner stuns in Allure: ‘I wanted the attention to be on me for five seconds rather than my family’

Newsflash! A Jenner wants to be the center of attention.

“As selfish as this sounds, I wanted the attention to be on me for five seconds rather than my family,” Kendall Jenner said inAllure’s March cover story.

The 19-year-old model and youngest of the Jenner-Kardashian clan was telling the magazine about not wanting her famous siblings to attend her runway shows for the spring-summer 2015 season.

“If they were sitting front row, it would have been all about, ‘Oh, Kim goes to Kendall’s first fashion show!’” she said. “I love Kim, but for a minute I wanted it to be like, ‘Ok, this is (Kendall’s) thing – and she’s taking it seriously.’”

Apparently so, as the teen has already embarked on quite a successful career even if she’s just getting her feet wet in the fashion industry.

Aside from her clothing line, Topshop, a collaboration with sister Kylie Jenner, Kendall has also landed major campaigns and walked in high fashion shows.

But the teen, who has grown up in the spotlight, has been preparing for her own moment to shine for some time now.

“When I started getting in front of the camera a lot, I think my confidence started to come out,” she told the mag. “It took a minute, because I had to believe in myself.”

So instead of her reality star upbringing being “a negative thing,” Kendall said it was anything but, and in fact helped her to become the rising star the world is seeing today.
