Natural disasters are unpredictable, but that does not mean you can’t survive them. When it comes to preparedness, the first and foremost step is to understand what are the most common natural disasters in your area.

Each natural disaster requires a different set or amount of supplies. For example, a blizzard may have you locked into your home for several days, so you’ll need plenty of food and water up to 7 days. A first aid kit is a must as is an emergency flair. Additionally, reacting & responding the right way to each natural disaster is important. For earthquakes, you’ll want to check your utilities like gas, electric and water. Shut them off if they appear damaged. Next, turn on the radio to hear news updates and avoid known damaged areas.
