Kanye West accepted the Music Video Vanguard Award at the MTV Awards on Sunday. After a beautiful medley of all of his music videos played, scored by a brilliant rework of his 2010 hit Runaway, Taylor Swift gave a touching speech about how much she loved Kanye and how College Dropout was the first album she bought when she was 12. Which was odd, considering it didn’t come out until she was 15.

West then got the mic and took a whole three minutes to even say the first word: “bro.” He then delivered an amazing speech so inspiring it made you feel as though literally anything was possible. Then, he took a brief moment, and decided, right then You know what? I’m just gonna do it.

Kanye West is running for president in 2020.

The man accepted the most coveted award, delivered a sermon, announced his candidacy, and then walked off the stage without even saying thank you once.

What a time to be alive.
