Apple's new operating system

If you own an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus, then you know and enjoy this smartphone’s features, such as the dual camera and the extended battery life. Unfortunately, shortly after the release of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, connectivity issues caused frustration for many users. Many consumers reported dropped 4G LTE connections that either resorted back to 3G or even losing the cellular signal altogether. Issues with global positioning system also were reported.

Not only were carriers such as T-Mobile and Verizon affected, carriers outside the United States also reported issues with iPhone connectivity. Also affected were older-model phones, such as the iPhone 6 and S, and iPhone 6 and S Plus. The good news is that Apple recognized the problem and rapidly took action. Users of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus can take full advantage of the upgraded iOS 10.0.3 operating system that was exclusively targeted for both phones. This upgraded system repairs the connectivity issues that have been reported. Let’s explore four advantages of the 10.0.3 operating system.

Improved Connectivity

In October 2016, Apple introduced consumers to a new operating system, which was solely released to address connectivity issues for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Improved connectivity issues have returned the spotlight to Apple’s new operating system 10.0.3. Now, when using an iPhone 7, any American on any network can enjoy excellent coverage without connectivity issues. If you use your iPhone 7 on T-Mobile’s 4G LTE network, you will experience cellular coverage like no other.  T-Mobile has the fastest 4G LTE network that allows you to use your iPhone 7 to stream movies or other content even more quickly.

Upgrade Friendly

Upgrading to the iOS 10.0.3 operating system is pretty straightforward. If you own a compatible device such as the iPhone 7 or 7 Plus, then the upgrade prompts are automatic. If this does not happen, you can simply go into your settings and begin the update manually. To do so, go to “settings,” then “general,” and then “software update” The update is also available on iTunes if you have the latest firmware installed on your computer. So far, there are no issues with upgrades, making it safe for all consumers. This is a plus considering the historical upgrade issues with the iOS 8 and 9 operating systems.

Enhanced User Experience

The iOS 10 system itself was a major upgrade, offering such improvements like a redesigned lock screen, better features for Maps, and a Siri SDK for developers. Apple released the iOS 10.0.3 operating system solely as a bug-fix upgrade, but some users report that they are experiencing enhanced user capabilities.

If you are unfamiliar with jailbreaking, it is when software restrictions are violated, allowing access to the phone’s operating system so that more downloads and installations can take place. Also, note that jailbreaking jeopardizes the security and performance of your phone.  At launch, there were no issues with jailbreaks for the 10.0.3 system, but since then, there have been a few jailbreaks identified with the system.  Apple continues to address these issues quickly because there is a history of jailbreaking with the iPhone 7.

If you stay abreast of jailbreaking activity, then you already know that the issue with dates back to 2007 with the original iPhone. However, Apple has stayed proactive, combating the problem through consistent iOS hardware upgrades and patching of software exploits. On January 23, 2017, Apple released iOS 10.2.1 to patch exploits for iOS 10. Jailbreak laws are unclear, but no legal action has been taken against the jailbreaking community.

The iOS 10.0.3 upgrade has resolved earlier connectivity issues, which keeps the mobile operating system moving forward. The primary goal was to fix cellular connectivity issues, and this upgrade has achieved that goal. The iOS 10 system is Apple’s latest operating system. Mixpanel reported that, as of May 1, 2017, more than 80 percent of users have updated to the iOS 10 system. Apple continues to strive for excellent service and continues to work on more improvements to the iOS 10 system that allow it to remain compatible and user-friendly.
