One man is dead and another in jail after a heated argument between two neighbors over their favorite flavor of Kool-Aid.
Detroit, MI — One man is dead and another in jail after a heated argument between two neighbors over their favorite flavor of Kool-Aid.
45-year-old Knoshon Moontron is behind bars tonight after shooting and killing his neighbor, 48-year-old Wayne Simpson. The two did not agree on the same flavor of Kool-Aid.
36-year-old Paul Horner witnessed the altercation and spoke with Fox 2 News in Detroit about the ordeal.
“I’ve lived across the street from these two for a little over five years now and they are always arguing about something ridiculous,” Horner said. “Knoshon Moontron claimed that grape flavored Kool-Aid was the best. Wayne Johnson said cherry was the best. This shouting match went on for almost three hours until finally Knoshon took out a gun and shot Wayne right in the face. I saw the whole thing and was laughing pretty hard up until the point where Wayne was shot in the face. That wasn’t funny.”
Tom Downey of the Detroit prosecutor’s office spoke with reporters about the situation.
“Mr. Knoshon Moontron is currently being charged with 1st degree murder, disturbing the peace and resisting arrest,” Downey said. “This is a sad day for everyone in Detroit when someone is murdered over something as trivial as Kool-Aid.”
Moontron is currently being held at the Wayne County Jail on a $500,000 bond.
