Hollywood, CA — When news came out that Kanye West was using $500 million of his own money to throw an awards show, on the exact same night as the upcoming Oscars, people had some serious doubts and a lot of criticism. But as of today, the show is sold out, every television advertising spot is filled and it looks like Kanye might just pull this thing off.

Kanye spoke today with MTV about the lineup and entertainment that will be happening at the show.

“My show, it got all the biggest names in the biz, ya know, and when people see this, they’re gonna be awed and shocked at how amazing this whole thing really is,” Kanye said. “Everyone is tired of the Oscars, it’s boring, so obviously they’ll be watching me and my awards show, there’s no other options. What I’m throwing will be the awards show of the century, in our whole lifetime. After this the name Kanye West will change his name to ‘The Greatness’, because that is exactly what everything about me will be.”

Tom Downey, a spokesmen for the awards show told Rolling Stone Magazine just a few of the acts that will be featured.

Kanye West Tweet about the $500 million K award show

The official Twitter page For Kanye West talking about his awards show called the ‘K’ which sold out in only five minutes.

“It will be quite the show,” Downey said. “We will have the Olsen Twins, both Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, singing a beautiful duet simply titled ‘Sunshine’ that is guaranteed to floor the crowd. The talented and always lively Gary Busey will be making an appearance to make a speech and will also be distributing certain awards. The music will be overflowing with LIVE performances by the talented Courtney Love and rocker Kidd Rock.” Downey continued, “And to top it all off, at the end of the night, we will have an actually wrecking ball swinging from the ceiling with holograms of Tupcac Shakur and Biggie Smalls holding on, shaking hands and making amends. I think that is something they would want, something to finally end their feud together and make for an incredible ending to an incredible night.”

“People doubted me since day one,” Kanye told MTV. “But now that I pulled this off, all those haters out there have nothing to say. They know who the greatest is now,” Kanye said, “They said I was throwing away my paper on this and it will never be good enough to compete with the Oscars. And now, who has the last laugh, for real, know what I’m sayin’.”

For comedic relief, Tyler Perry will be performing as his signature character in a dress, Madea, which will surely get the crowd rolling with laughter. And to top everything off, a newcomer will be coming to the stage; a mascot for a Christian anti-masturbation organization named Fappy The Anti-Masturbation Dolphin, whose real name is 36-year-old Paul Horner from Phoenix, Arizona.

“I’m just thrilled Kanye asked me to be a part of this,” Horner told CNN. “I’m not very familiar with Kanye, but he seems like a very nice fellow, very sincere and extremely humble. I hope while I’m there I can make the audience enjoy themselves and teach them all about the dangers and consequences of masturbation.”

Rumors are flying that Taylor Swift and Kanye are currently working on a project together and Swift may actually make an appearance at the show. Most will remember Swift and Kanye’s infamous “Imma let you finish, but…” moment – which occurred at the 2009 VMAs when he interrupted the singer and her VMA win for Best Female Video.

Critics of the ‘K’ are calling it a bust, but despite that, tickets for the show sold out in less than five minutes once going on sale. This event may end up being truly some serious competition for the Oscars.

The venue for the ‘K’ is the beautiful Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, Nevada. A spokesman for the hotel and casino told MSNBC that Kanye has already paid for the event in full.

The ‘K’ is scheduled for February 22nd at 8:30 p.m on NBC, following what Kanye is calling the ‘K Carpet’ which begins at 7 p.m. All of this happens to be at the exact time the Oscars are holding their event and Red Carpet. For more information, you can follow Kanye on Twitter or call the ‘K’ 24-hour hotline at (785) 273-0325.
