Las Vegas, NV — Just when you thought the idea of an ego could not get any bigger, Kanye West is there to prove you wrong and this time what he has in store West claims will “absolutely blow your mind”. Kanye is holding his own awards show, which he is simply calling the ‘K’, named after himself and Kim Kardashian, on the exact same night as the upcoming Oscars, which are being held in less than two weeks.

It is unclear who will attend, but Kanye told MTV it will be bigger than anything ever seen in the “history of entertainment”.

“My show will be bigger than the Oscars, the Grammys, all put together, anything you’ve ever seen before in your entire life,” Kanye said. “I’m gonna have all the biggest names there too, because everyone is tired of the Oscars, it’s boring. What I’m throwing will be the awards show of the century, in our whole lifetime.”

At the Grammys last week, West rushed the stage after another artist beat out Beyoncé. West says he had a good reason for getting out of his chair when Beck won album of the year at the Grammys on Sunday: Kanye said voices in his head made him do it.

“Everyone that was cheated at these recent awards show will get their due respect,” Kanye told CNN. “They will be recognized for the talent that was ignored by some judges that have no clue what they are doing and shouldn’t be there in the first place.” Kanye continued, “Some of these recent winners might have a few skills but it’s going to be nothing compared to what I’m bringing to the table. I got $500 million of my own paper invested in this thing so be prepared to be wowed beyond your wildest imaginations.”

Judges for the ‘K’ have not been announced yet, but Kanye told Rolling Stone he will be one of them.

“I know music, movies, the entire entertainment business and everything, I know what’s good and what’s bad, I’m a perfect judge for this huge event.”

New York Times media critic, Paul Horner, does not agree with what Kanye is doing.

“This is Kanye West being Kanye West,” Horner said. “He’s completely manic, wasting $500 million of his own money on something no one will watch or attend. In his mind though, it will be a great success, and I cannot wait for this train wreck to happen.”

Most will remember Kanye’s infamous “Imma let you finish, but…” moment – which occurred at the 2009 VMAs when he interrupted Taylor Swift and her VMA win for Best Female Video.

The ‘K’ is being held at the beautiful Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, Nevada. A spokesman for the hotel and casino told MSNBC that Kanye has already paid for the event in full. Rumors are circulating that Jay Z provided the difference on any of the $500 million that Kanye was short, but that news has not been confirmed.

The awards show is scheduled for February 22nd at 8:30 p.m on NBC, following what Kanye is calling the ‘K Carpet’ which begins at 7 p.m. All of this happens to be at the exact time the Oscars are holding their event and Red Carpet. For more information, you can follow Kanye on Twitter or call the ‘K’ 24-hour hotline at (785) 273-0325.
