New hacked emails have surfaced from Hillary Clinton showing that she is in talks with First Lady Michelle Obama as a running mate in 2016.
Washington, DC — Today new hacked emails surfaced from presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton showing that she is in talks with First Lady Michelle Obama as a running mate in 2016.
The emails posted on Pastebin by the hactivist group Anonymous appear that the First Lady has accepted Clinton’s offer as running mate for the 2016 presidential election.
“It thrills me that you [Michelle Obama] have accepted my offer as my running mate in 2016, you will make a fine vice president!” Clinton says in the email.
Since the news was announced, Republicans such as Rand Paul have been outspoken about their disapproval of a Hillary Clinton/Michelle Obama ticket in 2016.
“The American people deserve better,” Paul told CNN. “This news from Hillary just further proves why it is so important that I run for president. These two ladies in office would be devastating to America.”
Clinton’s use of a private email system rather than a government-run account has raised questions about what rules she may have broken, whether she knew she was in violation, and who else knew about her private system.
ABC News has now identified at least two ways in which Clinton may have broken federal rules. During her tenure at the State Department she appears to have violated an existing 2005 rule. And after her tenure, it appears that she did not heed a 2013 rule change that may have put her in violation.
For her part, Clinton recently tweeted that she “want[s] the public to see my email” — but that process will take months and will only apply to email that her team self-selected to hand over to the State Department.
It is unclear how Anonymous hacked her private emails, but it is clear whether you like it or not, that a Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama presidential ticket is coming in 2016.
