Getting the Most Out of Your Trip to Orlando

Written by Jimmy Rustling

Orlando, Florida, has been a popular hotspot for tourists all over the United States and worldwide for a long time, and it’s easy to see why with the gorgeous, sunny weather and so much to do and see there. It’s a great place to come for families, couples, and groups of friends as a fun getaway at any time of year. If you’re planning a trip to Orlando soon, below are a few suggestions that will help you get the most out of your stay there.

Theme Parks

One of the things that Orlando is most famous for is its selection of brilliant theme parks, which attract families and adrenaline junkies from all over. Disneyworld (which includes four parks and two waterparks) and Universal Studios are probably the biggest names you’ll recognize, but there’s also Busch Gardens, SeaWorld, and Legoland to visit. Universal Studios also has Volcano Bay water park, and there’s SeaWorld’s Aquatica park if you’re looking for a day of thrills but also want to stay cool in the heat of the Florida sun.

Sports

If you’re a sports enthusiast, there’s also plenty for you to enjoy in this city too. You can catch a basketball game at the Amway Center, enjoy a range of fun water sports at the Orlando Watersports Complex, or if you prefer something a little slower-paced, why not explore some of the amazing golf courses in Orlando instead? It’s a great way to spend a sunny afternoon, and you can finish it all off with a nice cold beer.

Shopping and Dining

If none of the above are jumping out at you, and you prefer to spend your vacation indulging in a bit of retail therapy and dining out, Orlando still can cater to your needs. It is home to some fantastic malls for you to browse, both for big-name, luxury brands that can be found at the Mall at Millenia, as well as independent boutiques so you can find something truly unique. After a day of exhausting the credit card, you can sit back and relax with a glass of wine and a delicious dinner. Some top restaurants to visit during your stay include The Melting Pot, which, as the name suggests, specializes in fondue. La Luce serves up some mouth-watering Italian cuisine, and Eddie V’s Prime is some of the best steak and seafood in the city.

Other Day Excursions

While there might be plenty of theme parks to explore in Orlando, you shouldn’t miss out on many of the other incredible options for days out during your stay. If you don’t mind heights, take a ride on a hot air balloon over the city, or take a tour of the swamps and see an alligator or two. You might also be interested in a day out at the zoo, which is great for families with young kids, followed by a stroll through the botanical gardens.

There is a lot that Orlando has to offer those who are visiting, and if this is your next vacation destination, try to make the most of it by packing in as many of these fun activities as possible.
