Aspirants who dream to serve the insurance sector in India may have come across the term ESIC. It stands for Employees State Insurance Corporation. The apex body recruits many candidates across India. Also, they recruit candidates for various positions including UDC (Upper Divisional Clerk). Every year thousands of vacancies are notified and lakhs of aspirants try their luck in the ESIC UDC Exam. However, not all of them get the desired results. 5 Tips to crack the ESIC UDC EXAM hassle free         

  1. Know the exam pattern

Many students land up getting negative results because they are unaware of The ESIC UDC Syllabus and the exam pattern. For first time aspirants, the exam is conducted in three phases.

  1. Prelims exam
  2. Mains exam
  3. Computer based skill test

In Prelims and Mains like other examinations, reasoning, English, Aptitude and General Awareness is there. In the Computer based skill test, candidates are required to perform a few computational tasks. It includes PowerPoint slide creation followed by typing in MS Word and creating tables in the MS Excel.

  1. Good hold on language

Many students are overconfident about their linguistics. As a result, they get negative outcomes. Most of the candidates don’t have a strong command of the language and sometimes misinterpret the question. Wrong understanding of the question will deliver negative results only. As far as the English section is concerned it contains 50 marks each in the Prelims and Mains. Good hold on the English language will also help in attempting the third phase that is the Computer Based Test. Remember that the exam is conducted in the bilingual language and for every wrong answer ¼ of the total marks deduction is there. So, don’t take language matters lightly.

  1. Basic computer knowledge

Clearing Prelims and Mains might be an easy task for few candidates but they must be serious about the third stage as well. Without basic computer knowledge or skills, it is difficult to crack the third phase of the examination. Three major applications they have to practice under the Microsoft suite. Those are PowerPoint, Word and Excel. One who is well-versed with all these applications doesn’t have to struggle in the third phase of the examination. Moreover, these computer skills will ultimately help candidates in their professional life as well.

  1. Attempt the strongest section

Every candidate has his or her favourite/ strongest section. Academic experts recommend aspirants to attempt their strongest section only. It is because it boosts the aspirants’ morale and the chances of clearing the exam becomes higher. Some of them are good in English, some in reasoning while some in General Awareness. Everyone has their choice and way of approaching the questions in the ESIC UDC. Therefore, stick to basics and attempt those sections in which you are 100% confident. Scoring cent percent marks in one section will give you a competitive edge over your competitors.

  1. Expand learning horizon

Don’t go for the rote learning or inappropriate study pattern. It won’t deliver you the desired outcome. Try to expand the learning horizon by gaining practical knowledge. Insurance sector is all about practical knowledge. Candidates’ practical knowledge is tested in the reasoning and the aptitude section. The questions in the respective sections are based on illustrations, diagrams and others. Thus, limited learning won’t solve the purpose, try expanding the learning horizon by regular practice. There are plenty of study materials and resources available online which aids the learning process.
